Day 1: How to Change Your Mindset

How we think about ourselves and our lives eventually manifests into words and actions. When you change how you think, you can change your reality.

"For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.." Proverbs 23:7

This change is more mental than physical. This season, you will have to get a new mindset for greatness. Change your mind, change your world.

Think about the type of person you want to become based on your goals. To reach these goals, you’ll need better habits. Habits, good and bad, define us as people. But we must not think of habits *only* as life hacks and a way to achieve an outcome. We must also consider them as a way to change our identity entirely for the better.

Day 1 Challenge

“The most practical way to change who you are is to change what you do [habitually].” Atomic Habits, James Clear (Highly Recommended)
  • Write down who you wish to become and give 3 reasons why.

    • Is it a better husband? An executive? A writer? A better mother? A politician? A business owner? Why?

  • Now that you have this identity of who you want to become, think about the characteristics and actions of this identity and write them down.

    • Is this person consistent, reliable, ambitious, etc?

    • Does this person have a routine, are they disciplined mentally, etc?

  • Write down the habits you want to change in your life and compare them to the identity of who you want to become. Then, make those changes.

    • Remember, this is not a race. Let this challenge be the start of a continuous mindset shift. Start small and work your way up to transformative habits.

    • Example: “Based on who I want to become, I will have a morning routine so I can start my day productively and on time.”

      • Write out what that morning routine looks like for you. Get inspiration from articles and YouTube videos on waking up early and setting a routine. Identify what’s most important to you in the morning that will help you start your day.

We pray this is helpful and pushes you in the right direction.
