Day 5: How to Walk in Authority

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 I don’t want to assume everyone receiving this email is a Christian. The first step to walking in spiritual authority is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. If you would like to receive salvation, click here. Knowing who you are in Christ, the power we access as Christians, and how to defeat the enemy will help you walk boldly in authority. Know who you are in Christ

“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love.” Romans 8:39

God loves you so much that He sacrificed His only son, Jesus, to be beaten, whipped, tortured, and hung to die so that you may be saved. Jesus endured all of this with you in mind and took your sins, sicknesses, and iniquities so you can experience a relationship with God, healing in your body, and miracles in your life. Know that you are special, chosen, and loved. Accessing Authority Because of what Jesus did on the cross, we now have authority and can do the same works He did on the earth and more through the Holy Spirit. Three important topics to accessing authority:

  1. To perform miracles, deliverance, and the works Jesus did on earth, you must receive the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. If you would like to receive the Holy Spirit, click here.

  2. The name of Jesus is above every name (Philippians 2:10-11) and holds power because of His sacrifice. When you call on Jesus, demons tremble with fear because of how powerful His name is (James 2:19).

  3. Ephesians 6:10-18 instructs us to put on the full armor of God so we can stand against the enemy's attacks.

Defeating the enemy

“I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” Luke 10:19

This is where faith comes in because you must believe God's word. It has to be a matter of fact to you so that when the enemy comes, you have God's word, the sword of the Spirit, to defend yourself. Remember, Jesus already won the war, which gives us automatic victory in every circumstance (1 Corinthians 15:57). Have faith, speak the word, resist the devil, and he will flee (James 4:7).

Day 5 Challenge

  1. Memorize the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Read 1 Corinthians12:4-11 which will teach you what you can access through the Holy Spirit. Pray that God reveals your spiritual gifts to you.

  2. Memorize the full armor of God. You can include this into your daily prayers. Stay armored to stand against any spiritual attacks.

  3. Incorporate scriptures in your prayers. Psalm 103:20 tells us that angels move at “the voice of His word.” When we speak God’s word, angels move on our behalf, carrying out His promises. This is why it’s essential to know God’s word.

    1. The formula is: [Thank God in advance for what you’re believing Him for] + because you said in your word that [insert scripture] + in Jesus' name, amen.

    2. Example: I thank you God that my body is healed because you said in your word that by His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5) in Jesus, amen.
